Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ release pushed to April 2022 – Times of India

Buzz is that the release of Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ might move to another date. It is believed that the actor-producer is likely to postpone the film to April or May 2022 and one of the main reasons for the change is that ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ may not get a clean run post its release. ‘LSC’ at present has been slated to release on February 11, which will be followed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ the next week and then Ranveer Singh’s ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ will release on February 25. A source close to the production revealed to ETimes, “A final view is yet to be taken.”

When ETimes reached out to senior Distributor Raj Bansal, he said, “The film is definitely getting pushed to April but the date is not clear, as yet.”

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is an adaptation of Tom Hanks’ ‘Forest Gump’ and has a lot of period setting in the film. There are elaborate war scenes that need extensive VFX work, as well.

The comedy-drama has been in the news ever since its announcement. The film is an adaptation of the six Academy Award-winning film ‘Forest Gump’, which redefined the movie landscape during its time.

Directed by Advait Chandan from a screenplay written by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is produced by Aamir Khan, Viacom18 and Paramount Pictures.
