Bhagyashree: Abhimanyu and I will definitely work together – Times of India

Bhagyashree, known for her coy and demure debut opposite Salman Khan in Maine Pyar Kiya, back in 1989, has rebooted her acting career in style and with zero hold-ups. The actress, who was recently seen playing Kangana Ranaut’s mother in Thalaivi, is playing a pivotal part in Prabhas and Pooja Hegde’s Radhe Shyam which releases early next year. The actress, who recently played Sita for a day in Ram Leela being staged at Ayodhya, has a shooting schedule packed to the brim.

Talking about it, Bhagyashree told BT, “I feel so blessed for the kind of response I got for a role that was important, not very long in terms of screen time but had an arc and was crucial to the central character. The response was unimaginable. Some people even told me that this is something I should have started doing some years ago. The response was more than encouraging. I am back and now, I need to do more. God’s been kind that I have a diary that is packed so tightly that I need to plan and take some time off.”

Talking about Radhe Shyam, she says, “It’s one of the first big releases of the next year. Prabhas is such a good actor and has such a huge fan following all over the country. What I play in his film is diametrically different from Thalaivi. The audience will see the other end of the spectrum as far as my performance as an actor is concerned. Thalaivi couldn’t reach theatres in Maharashtra and a few other parts of India which were shut then. Hopefully, Radhe Shyam will open everywhere. The producers are gearing up for that. By January 2022, life will hopefully be different and closer to the old normal.”

Abhimanyu Dassani, Bhagyashree’s son made his debut in 2019 with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and is also going to be seen in a host of films, starting a few weeks from now. Do we get to see the mother-son duo together in a movie or a digital show? “The script should appeal to both of us and it should be something that he and I should like because of the characters offered to both of us,” says Bhagyashree, adding, “This has to come from a good script and a good director who wants us to work together for a reason. All I can say is that it is going to happen in the future for sure and both of us will wait for it. Abhimanyu and I will definitely work together.”
