When ETimes contacted the actor, he confirmed the development and revealed that he’s going to be playing an important role in Suri’s film. He relayed, “Two good filmmakers, Ram Gopal Varma and Mohit Suri, have given me diametrically opposite roles. RGV made me a gangster in ‘Satya’ and Mohit Suri has turned me into a police officer in ‘Ek Villain Returns’. From playing a criminal in Satya to playing a guy who catches criminals in ‘Ek Villain Returns’–it is definitely very exciting”.
Chakravarthy’s last on-screen appearance in a Hindi film was RGV’s ‘Bhoot Returns’ in 2012. The actor also pointed out that we will get to see more of him in Hindi films in the future. He said, “I have two more exciting films that are in the pipeline but I cannot divulge any details about them.”
JD Chakravarthy acted in five Hindi films produced by RGV, before he went back to Hyderabad and acted in and directed Telugu films. His last directorial venture was ‘Sridevi’, which was also produced by Ram Gopal Varma.
