NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the nation on the completion of one year of implementation of National education policy and said the programmes under it have the potential to change India’s fate.
While virtually launching the new initiatives under the NEP, such as Academic Bank of Credit, Vidya Pravesh and others, PM thanked the education community for their contribution towards the formulation and implementation of NEP.
Here are the key points from his address:-
* New Education Policy to be key factor in nation building. It will help in the creation of a New India.
* Today’s youth of the 21st century wants to make their own systems, their own world. Therefore, he needs exposure, he needs freedom from old shackles, cages.
* I am happy to share that there are 14 engineering colleges in 8 states which offer education in 5 different Indian languages including Hindi-Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Bangla.
* The new programmes under NEP have the potential to change India’s fate.
* The National Education Policy assures the youth that the country is now completely with them, with their spirits. The Artificial Intelligence program which has just been launched will also make our youth future oriented, opening the way for AI driven economy.
* Multiple entry-exit options will free students from being stuck in one course. This will remove the fear students have who wonder if their decision to select a particular stream might be wrong.
* How far we will go in the future, how much height we will achieve, it will depend on that what kind of education we are giving to our youth at present. I believe that India’s new national education policy is one of the big factors in the great endeavour of nation building.
