14-day judicial custody for scribe linked to China info case | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Wednesday sent freelance journalist Rajeev Sharma to judicial custody for 14 days in a money laundering case related to alleged passing of sensitive information about India’s defence and strategy to Chinese intelligence agencies.
The court sent Sharma to jail after the ED did not further seek his custodial interrogation. Sharma was arrested by the ED on July 1.
The ED also sought more time from the court to file its reply on his bail plea, after which the court adjourned the matter to July 16. The bail plea claimed that prima facie no case of laundering was made out against Sharma and mere allegations of cash deposits do not bring the case under its preview.
