“I’m really looking forward to start working on the arm this week so that I can be 100% fit in Le Mans. I am feeling very positive about my recovery and can’t wait to ride my M1 again.”
Yamaha added that Quartararo had undergone a successful operation for “chronic exertional compartment syndrome” (CECS or ‘arm pump’).
“He is expected to be fully fit again for the Grand Prix de France, held from 14th – 16th May,” the team added.
The 22-year-old former championship leader sits second in the overall standings, two points behind Ducati’s Italian rider Francesco Bagnaia after four races.
