Exclusive! Taapsee Pannu’s cricket film ‘Shabaash Mithu’ shoot shifted from Mumbai to Hyderabad? – Times of India

Rahul Dholakia (‘Parzania’, ‘Raees’) was supposed to start the Mithali Raj biopic ‘Shabaash Mithu‘ with Taapsee Pannu in July 2020 but had to stay put due to the nationwide lockdown last year. And now, in 2021, just when he had started to set the field (Taapsee had indicated on Twitter in early April that they were about to start), the recent 15-day curfew imposed in Maharashtra may have left him with the same bewildered expression like a cricketer when he drops a dolly catch.

Rumour has it that Dholakia was supposed to start ‘Shabaash Mithu’ in Mumbai but has now decided that he would rather go to Hyderabad with his cast and crew for the same. While a lot of TV shows are shifting base from Mumbai to ensure that they churn out fresh episodes, ‘Shabaash Mithu’ is the first film that we hear might change its venue. Some sources have even told us that Dholakia has already reached Hyderabad.

It is not known whether Dholakia plans to shoot the Hyderabad part first. ‘Shabaash Mithu’ was supposed to be shot in both cities, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Or is it that the Mumbai scenes are also going to be shot in Hyderabad now?

Taapsee, who’s essaying the role of the Indian women’s cricket team captain in the upcoming film backed by Viacom18 Studios, remained unavailable for comment. Calls and text messages to Dholakia and Viacom‘s Ajit Andhre did not evoke a response.
