Kangana Ranaut says she got a call from Akshay Kumar and others commending her for ‘Thalaivi’; adds, “They can’t openly praise, movie mafia terror” – Times of India

Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter to share that she has been receiving calls from various actors praising her for ‘Thalaivi’. She also mentioned Akshay Kumar in her tweet which read, “Bollywood is so hostile that even to praise me can get people in trouble, I have got many secret calls and messages even from big stars like @akshaykumar they praised @Thalaivithefilm trailer to sky but unlike Alia and Deepika films they can’t openly praise it. Movie mafia terror.”

She further added, “Wish an industry of art can be objective when it comes to art, and not indulge in power play and politics when it comes to cinema, my political views and spirituality should not make me a target of bullying, harassment and isolation but if they do, then obviously I will win …”

Kangana dropped the trailer of ‘Thalaivi’ on her birthday in March. Celebs like Ram Gopal Varma and Hansal Mehta and Telugu actress Samantha Akkineni had praised Kangana for the trailer.

Helmed by AL Vijay, the film is based on the life of late actress-turned-politician J Jayalalithaa.

Kangana is currently working on ‘Tejas’ and the sequel of ‘Manikarnika’.
