Delhi to have its own Board of School Education, says CM Kejriwal | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced that Delhi will have its own Board of School Education.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meet in the capital.

While announcing his decision, Kejriwal said that the new move will bring revolutionary changes in Delhi’s current education system, and will make it reach new heights as well.
“There are around 1000 govt schools & 1700 private schools in Delhi. All govt schools and most private schools here are affiliated with CBSE. Their CBSE affiliation will be scrapped & they’ll be affiliated to Delhi Board of School Education,” Kejriwal was quoted as saying.
Delhi CM further added that “Schools will be selected after discussion with principals, teachers & parents. We hope that all schools will voluntarily get affiliated to this Board within 4-5 years.”
